Your Artist

Hello! I’m Katie (though some people call me the full Katie Ruther), and while Los Angeles is home, I’m incredibly grateful this art has taken me from California’s coastlines and vineyards to beautiful destinations around the world.

I’m inspired by travel, culture, meaningful connection, gathering around a table with good food, and a life deeply rooted in Jesus. My faith is the foundation of who I am, shaping the way I see people, love others, and tell stories. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love and grace of Christ in my life!

For 16 years, I’ve had the privilege of documenting weddings, and I believe photographs are so much more than images—they are the pieces of our lives we return to. They hold the people we love, the places that shaped us, and the feelings we never want to forget.

This is why I photograph weddings. Not simply because they are beautiful, but because they are sacred. It’s one of the few moments in life when everyone you love gathers around you to witness the beginning of your marriage. I want to preserve the joy, emotion, and honest moments that make your story uniquely yours.

My work is rooted in the belief that photography is about more than preserving what happened—it’s about creating an experience where you feel loved, seen, and cared for while I document the moments you’ll hold onto forever.

When I’m not photographing weddings, you’ll find me chasing sunsets, exploring a new city, eating sushi, traveling somewhere beautiful, or spending time with the people I love. I’m so grateful this gift of storytelling allows me to connect with people, serve them well, and preserve the moments that matter most.
