Your Artist

Hello! I’m Katie (though some people call me the full Katie Ruther), and while Los Angeles is home, I’m incredibly grateful this art has taken me from California’s coastlines and vineyards to beautiful destinations around the world—with Italy always holding a special place in my heart.

I’m drawn to the things that make life meaningful: travel, culture, gathering around a table with good food, deep connection, and a life rooted in Jesus. After 16 years of photographing weddings, I’ve learned that the most powerful images aren’t always the perfectly planned ones—they’re the quiet moments, the honest emotions, and the fleeting pieces of a day that bring you right back to how it felt.

My couples value presence over perfection. They care about creating a wedding experience that feels intentional, welcoming, and deeply personal—one filled with the people they love, incredible food, beautiful places, and meaningful moments. They appreciate timeless beauty, thoughtful details, and photographs that become family heirlooms rather than just memories for today.

They aren’t looking for a photographer who simply documents their wedding. They’re looking for someone they can trust to preserve the feeling of it all, who has the keen eye for capturing people, and who can create a space where they can be fully present for the moments they’ll never get back.

When I’m not photographing weddings, you’ll find me chasing sunsets, exploring a new city, eating sushi, talking about Jesus, or planning my next adventure. I’m endlessly grateful this calling allows me to serve people well and preserve the moments that will be treasured for generations.
